Tracklist/Description: In Loving Memory of Philip Grahame Asher [1966 - 2021] On Friday 22nd January 2021 our lovely friend Phil Asher suddenly passed away leaving his family, friends and the global dance music community mourning the loss of one of life’s unsung heroes and real good guys. Without Phil Asher or PHLASH there would be no Reel People. Like so many artists and acts that came from London’s soulful dance scene in the early 2000s he was the LINK that made it all happen. He introduced all 3 of us and like all others we followed him in awe of his passion for music and love for his community and life. Phil was an MPC beating, dancefloor destroying, hands in the air making, cup of tea and yum yum eating man like no other. Words can’t begin to describe just how infectious his laugh was and how warm his hugs were. We are so grateful that Brian, Sheldon and all the guys at Traxsource have helped us to put this tribute page to Phil live on the site. Thanks also to all the friends of Phlash who have supported with charts and to Spinna for such a wonderful dj mix. For those who don’t know about Phil’s musical legacy, please take time to delve into this page and discover incredible joints and jams. For those who do know about Phil, we hope you find some hidden gems from this restless soul. Phil was incredibly proud of his amazing son Marvin who has followed in his dad’s footsteps into music production under the aliases NGC and the Xutians. With this in mind his close friends have set up The Marvin Jupiter Asher fund to help Marvin continue his dream and continue the Asher legacy.
